2014 Pinot Gris Tasting Notes

2014 Pinot Gris

Harvested: May

Vintage 2014 began with a mild winter and followed by a warm calm spring, perfect conditions for a short flowering, good fruit set and healthy spring growth. Temperatures nose-dived in January, the coolest January we have experienced in the vineyard in 10 years. Thankfully conditions in February & March improved and we enjoyed the stable & fine weather these months typically provide. March and April remained dry and unusually warm, counteracting our cool January. The vines proved to have a mind of their own despite our management regime and produced one of our largest seasons with large bunches of fruit in excellent condition. This wine was bottled early September.

Sensory Description

A vibrant nose of pears floral aromas lush and exotic spice the palate, it starts fruity and has a wonderfully luscious mouth feel and finishes with a long lingering balance between the acidity and residual sugars. This wine is fabulous with spicy food or spicy dressing on foods.
